Let it Snow

December 18, 2008 · Filed Under City, Management

snowWe are always grateful when we get moisture in Utah, and snow is usually a welcome sight. However when the icy stuff is on our roads it can make for a slippery mess.

Every year when we get major snow storms that blanket The Ranches the HOA gets asked why we are not doing a better job plowing the roads. There is a very simple answer to that question and it is that the HOA does not own or control the roads and the responsibility for plowing rests with the City of Eagle Mountain.

The idea that the HOA does not maintain and plow the roads is surprising to some, but what we have to realize is that maintaining roads is very costly and would require substantially higher HOA dues than we now have. The Ranches Board of Trustees strives for a transparent and open organization, and homeowners interested in how their HOA dues are spent can always look at the current and past budgets, as well as the independent audits that are performed every year.

If you are unsatisfied with the snow plowing in The Ranches please contact Eagle Mountain City, you can reach the city offices by phone at: (801) 789-6603, or you can email the city administrator at jhendrickson@emcity.org

I went to look at the CC&Rs and it keeps telling me the page does not exist. I’m not sure if you did an update recently – but you may want to fix this
