Virus Causes School Closure
The Ranches Academy was closed on Thursday because of an outbreak of Norovirus which affected 60 students and teachers. The virus is highly contagious and because of this parents in Eagle Mountain are being asked to be careful to prevent the further spread. Other public buildings in The Ranches are being disinfected including schools and churches.

Growing Community
There are many exciting additions to our already growing community! The Maverick is quickly being completed, there is going to be a new car wash added near the Maverick, construction has begun on the new charter school and seminary, and meetings have been held to get the bike park project under way. All of these additions will enhance what is already a wonderful community! If you would like to be involved in community planning, attend the monthly planning/ landscaping committee meeting, held the 1st Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Prairie Gate Office. Meetings are open to the public and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
Charter High School to open in Eagle Mountain
Excitement abounds, as the first charter high school in Eagle Mountain prepares to open its doors. Rockwell Charter High School will welcome students in August of 2008. The creation of this school will have students breathing a sigh of relief as they give up their commutes into Lehi and are able to attend a brand new school. While free like other public schools, Rockwell will provide a college-preparatory education along with smaller class sizes and more individual attention. Student activities and other traditional high school events and clubs are in the planning stage. All future students are invited to participate in this process.
