Progress on Bike Park
Progress continues to be made on the Bike Park with wood features being built and earth being moved the park is really starting to come together. What a great addition to the parks in The Ranches and in the City. If you are interested in volunteering or keeping up with the progress being made on the park, check out the Bike Park blog.

Water Restrictions
The HOA would like to inform all homeowners within the Ranches of current water restrictions in place for all parks and parkways. At this time the city’s wells are not producing enough water to handle the needs of all Eagle Mountain City residents. To keep from having to restrict water usage for residents the city has imposed heavy restrictions on the HOA regarding how much we can water the common areas and when we can water. Throughout the past 2 months, the water has been shut off for a total of 20 days. These restrictions during the hottest time of the year has caused the grass to turn yellow and crispy. In order to keep the grass from dying completely, the HOA and city officials have come to an agreement for a watering schedule. The following is the watering schedule until further notice:
Parks (except Nolan Park): Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Parkways:Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM and all day on Sunday
We understand the frustration of having to water the parks during times when most children want to be out playing in them. Unfortunately, this is the only option available to us at this time for keeping the grass, plants, and trees from dying. This low amount of water will not soften the grass or turn it to a more green color. However, it will keep the grass from dying. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through these difficult restrictions.
Growing Community
There are many exciting additions to our already growing community! The Maverick is quickly being completed, there is going to be a new car wash added near the Maverick, construction has begun on the new charter school and seminary, and meetings have been held to get the bike park project under way. All of these additions will enhance what is already a wonderful community! If you would like to be involved in community planning, attend the monthly planning/ landscaping committee meeting, held the 1st Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Prairie Gate Office. Meetings are open to the public and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
Attention Bikers Young and Old
A bicycle park is being considered for The Ranches at Eagle Mountain. An attraction like none other in the state, this unique park will benefit bikers and non-bikers alike by bringing positive publicity and exposure to the community. The park will include three different slope style trails, a jump park, skill development area, and an up hill trail. The park will feature North Shore style wood obstacles, table-top jumps, drop-offs, and teeter totters. Trail difficulty will vary to challenge riders of all abilities, while the jump park and skill development area will provide opportunities for even the youngest riders to hone their technique and build confidence.
The Ranches H.O.A. Planning Committee and Board have given preliminary approval for this non-motorized bicycle park. The Eagle Mountain City administrator has given the proposal a favorable response as well. Several companies have expressed a willingness to help and much of the funding is already in place. Volunteers are currently needed to help plan, draw, and organize the project. Next spring additional help will be needed for construction and park maintenance. A trail advocacy group is now being formed to assist with this and future trail building efforts in the community.
